As well as a graphic designer and photographer I am also a keen artist. I enjoy using acrylic paint pens to create images. This year I have been very inspired by cannock chase near to where I am living at the moment. In particular I have become interested in the animals that reside there. It started with an owl painting. The owl was named athena after the goddess of wisdom. Next came Artemis the stag. Finally I found drawn towards creating an image of a fox. I named the fox Inari after a japanese god of foxes.
I find art very therapeutic as well as being out in nature. I have suffered from depression and anxiety and art and nature really help me when I am struggling. I also got my dad involved in creating art and then we decided to get an exhibition up at our local library - so this is where the animal faces exhibition came along. My dad has also created animal faces but using his talents as a photographer to collect images and create digital photomontages.
Our exhibition will be on for the whole of March at Cannock Library, Manor Avenue, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 1AA. The library is accesible and has a lift to the first floor where you can see the exhibition.
The artworks on sale are £150 each and you can also buy prints, tshirts and phone cases on our online shop www.redbubble.com/people/vimto66/shop
We are donating 20% of all sales to the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust to help them with their great work.
If you get chance pop into the library and have a look. We live just down the road if you want a cup of tea!
